Top executives for CBB conference
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), yesterday announced Denise Wilson and Guelabatin Sun as speakers for the upcoming “Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Conference” being held on November 30, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel – Bahrain Bay under the patronage of Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women Chairwoman, HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
Wilson and Sun join a growing line up of regional and international senior executives from the industry that are set to address more than 250 expected participants during the conference’s opening session, where they will draw on their insights and experiences spanning long- standing corporate careers.
Wilson is the Chief Executive of the Davies Review for Women on Boards in the UK, which leads the national, business focused task force and voluntary framework for increasing the number of women on FTSE 350 Boards. She is also a non- Executive Director of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, Chair of the Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee member, Chair of the Royal Academy of Arts Friend’s Board and an executive coach to business leaders in the corporate and charitable sectors.
Commenting, Wilson said, “It gives me great pleasure to visit Bahrain and share the aims and context of our drive to increase the number of women at the top of British business.”
Guelabatin Sun is Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Deutsche Bank Group. Also commenting, Sun said,” I am delighted to have the opportunity to come to Bahrain and participate in what promises to be a constructive and informative dialogue about the challenges facing us all in promoting diversity and inclusion in the financial industry.”
The conference marks the conclusion of a year-long campaign held as part of the 2015 Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations to showcase and promote the role of “Women in the Financial and Banking Sector”.
Key topics to be discussed and debated at the conference include factors shaping the future of women in finance, sustainability and competitiveness of women in the industry and leading the transformation.
