Jood voluntary team at Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), organized its annual Ramadan initiative “Iftar on the Road”, in which iftar meals were distributed to drivers and road users at a number of major traffic intersections across different governorates in Bahrain on Friday.
This initiative falls under the Bank’s social responsibility framework to give back to the community in which it operates.
It also reflects the Bank’s belief in the importance of team spirit and giving back to your local community, in addition to its ongoing efforts to highlight the characteristics that make up the Bahraini identity from generosity to social solidarity.
Over 1500 Iftar meals were distributed throughout the initiative, with more than 40 volunteering employees taking part, reflecting the synergy of BisB’s staff and their desire to give back to the community.
This step also comes as part of the Bank’s environmental sustainability directives, as Team Jood handed out the meals using recyclable paper bags.
Commenting on the initiative, Yaser Alsharifi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, said: “We are pleased to continue launching our annual Ramadan initiative, “Iftar on the Road”, for the 3rd year in a row, as part of our wish to contribute to the principles of synergy and giving, as well as cementing the social values that make up Bahraini society.”
The Jood voluntary team was established in March 2019, consisting of BisB employees who aim to contribute to the community through several volunteering initiatives in line with BisB’s social responsibility towards the community.
