During the Huawei Middle East & Central Asia Tech Carnival 2023, Huawei held the Huawei IT Day under the theme ‘Unleash Data Power, Towards the Yottabyte Era’.

A yottabyte is equal to a quadrillion gigabyte.

At the event, Huawei reinforced its leadership in storage technology by sharing its latest multi-cloud-oriented storage strategy.

President David Shi of Huawei Enterprise Middle East and Central Asia highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and customer requirements in building leading data storage service capabilities “Enterprises’ data infrastructure faces three key challenges: evolving data, new-age applications, and ransomware attacks.

Huawei is committed to building a solution that caters to all of them, including managing diverse data, rapidly upcoming applications and defending all the data against ransomware attacks.”

The digital transformation of public and private sector organizations is a priority across countries in the Middle East and Central Asia.

While this transformation is crucial for economic development and social progress, data resilience remains a constant threat globally, with ransomware attacks proving to be particularly destructive.

Andrew Beklemishev, Vice President of IDC CIS, shared valuable insights on ransomware resilience strategies and data protection best practices to achieve reasonable immunity from cyber threats.

A recent IDC/Huawei whitepaper revealed that two-thirds of global organizations experienced ransomware attacks in 2022, resulting in business disruptions lasting an average of five days.

At the event, experts presented the latest innovations in next-generation storage architecture, emphasizing the power of data with all-flash solutions.

Huawei showcased its green and secure all-flash data center solution, along with the industry’s first entry-level storage combination with A-A Architecture – Dorado 2000 and OceanProtect X3000.

The company also introduced the Huawei OceanStor Pacific series, demonstrating its ability to handle massive data and new data service loads in the Yottabyte era.

Overall, the Huawei IT Day event provided insights into storage advancements, data protection strategies, and the future of storage products for businesses of all sizes.
