Al Salam Bank launches new ID Card ATM Service

Al Salam Bank has launched its newest ATM service enabling clients to use their identification cards to complete their banking transactions.

The new service allows clients to view their account balance and withdraw twice a day up to BD 1,000 without the use of their ATM card.

Clients will be required to enter their ID cards into the ATM to receive an SMS on their registered mobile number containing a One-Time-Password (OTP) to access the account and conduct transactions safely and comfortably.

Mohammed Buhijji, Head of Retail Banking at Al Salam Bank, said: “As part of our continuous efforts to offer unique and comfortable banking solutions, we are pleased to announce the launch of our newest service that aims to facilitate our clients’ cash withdrawals.”

The Bank said it invites all of its newly onboarded clients from Ithmaar Bank to replace their existing Ithmaar Bank cards with Al Salam Bank cards to enjoy an uninterrupted banking experience through the instant issuance KIOSK devices available in branches or through mobile application.

Ithmaar clients who have changed their cards are now eligible to enter in Al Salam Bank’s prize draws, and gain access to benefits from a range of exclusive offers, rewards, and benefits, as well as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

The new ID card-based system was demonstrated to the media by Mouge Ahmed Ismail, customer service executive at the head-office branch of Al Salam Bank at Sanabis.

A Daily Tribune representative experienced first-hand the convenience and ease of opening an account on the basis of an ID card alone within a minute. Using the CPR card of the DT representative, Mouge showed to the media how to open an account, withdraw cash, and also track the spending.
