Citi Bahrain launches Citiphone Call Centre boosting services

Citi Bahrain has inagurated its Citi Phone call centre serving clients in Bahrain and the region. The event was held under the patronage of CBB Governor Rasheed Al Maraj.

Citiphone Bahrain is the latest addition to Citi’s global call centres, and falls in line with the bank’s strategy to offer comprehensive and scalable distribution channels to its clients.

Through Tamkeen’s Customised Employment Programme, Tamkeen supports Citi Bahrain to recruit and train young Bahraini university graduates to work in the Citiphone call centre at the bank.

The inauguration was hosted by Atiq Rehman, Citi’s Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa region, and Usman Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of Citi Bahrain.

The event was also attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chairman and Acting Chief Executive of Tamkeen, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Capital Governor as well as other dignitaries.

The centre employs 98 agents of whom 89 per cent are Bahrainis. Moreover, the bank actively sourced diverse talent to fill various roles at the centre in line with Citi’s diversity goals  and Bahrain’s ‘Women in the Banking and Financial Sector’ theme.

Today, 44pc of the Citphone agents are female which is significantly higher than the industry average in Bahrain.
