Representatives of the Muharraq Governorate lashed out at the authorities for continuing to delay the long-awaited opening of the Muharraq complex without any valid reason, an Alayam report said.
Reiterating their demand to open the complex immediately, the deputies said there is no justification for the current delay, especially as the construction of the facility in the Busaiteen area and its amenities were completed quite a while ago.
Expressing strong disapproval of the delay were representatives Hamad al-Dawi, Muhammad al-Alawi, Dr. Mohammed al-Husseini, Dr Hesham alAsheeri, Hisham al-Awadhi, and Abdullah al-Dhaen.
They highlighted the significant benefits the facility will bring to the local community, particularly for hosting community events and gatherings on various occasions. The complex, designed to accommodate a range of events such as weddings and other special occasions, was developed in accordance with a Royal directive.
Spanning an area of 11,636 square meters, it features three halls that can be combined into a single open space measuring 1260 square meters. Alongside the main hall, there is an additional dining hall, contributing to a total complex size of 3,000 square meters. The facility also provides parking space for 170 vehicles and includes shops dedicated to offering various services.
