The Centre for General Studies (CGS) at the Royal University for Women (RUW), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, will commence offering Korean language courses in Semester I AY 2023-24.
The announcement comes after RUW has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote Korean language and culture in Bahrain.
The success led to placing the Korean language course as an elective course (Liberal Arts Requirement Course) offered by the Centre for General Studies. Students enrolled in the course will be introduced to the language and learn more about the fascinating culture.
Speaking about the importance of the upcoming Korean language course, Dr Humam Elagha, Director of the Centre for General Studies, stated: “Students at RUW will have even more opportunities to broaden their global outlook.
Language learning is an essential component of a well-rounded education. By adding Korean language courses, we are not only meeting the demands of our students, but also preparing them to be active members of a globalized world.”
CGS offers a variety of foreign languages to RUW students and to our community including Italian, French, German, and recently Korean and wide cultural offerings in these language areas.
