BDB launches feature to open an account online within minutes

Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) announced the launch of a new feature available on “tijara”, the Bank’s digital platform designed to support startups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The new feature “tijara call account” enables users to open an account online and access the “tijara” platform within a few minutes, without the need to visit a physical branch.
The digital platform “tijara” offers a profit that is accrued on a daily basis and paid into a user’s account post the last day of the month at a rate of 3.5%.
In addition, this service enables users to transact 24/7, access accounts balance, statements and transaction details, an unlimited number of withdrawals and deposits, local and international money transfers.
It also enables them to add and modify beneficiaries, generate account reports, free monthly e-statements and SMS alerts Additionally, it provides direct digital access to financing options including support to cover operational expenses, bill payments and salary transfers.
BDB Group Chief Executive Officer Dalal Al Qais stated, “The ‘tijara call account’ is a step towards a series of initiatives and services we aim to roll out in line with our efforts to continuously provide our customers with the highest quality of banking services.”
