Indian School pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Social Science Day yesterday. Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ravi Shanker Shukla inaugurated the programme which was organised by the Social Science department by lighting the lamp in the presence of Principal VR Palaniswamy, Vice-Principals and staff, students and parents.
The main event of the day was an inter school quiz competition on Mahatma Gandhi and India’s Freedom Movement.
The ISB team won the first prize in the quiz contest conducted by quiz master Rajesh Nair.
The winners were awarded prizes by Chief Guest Ravi Shanker Shukla who also gave the inaugural address. Head Teacher Jose Thomas spoke about Gandhiji and his ideologies.
the event featured a series of cultural performances that showcased the rich and diverse heritage of India.
ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan in his message said the Social Science Day celebrations helps to raise awareness about the importance of Social Science and to inspire students to learn more about the subject.
Secretary Saji Antony said it provided a platform for the students to showcase their talents and creativity. Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students for their active participation and teachers for their meticulous organisation of the event.
