New Millennium School triumph in inter-school literary contest

 

The New Millennium School, Bahrain, hosted its 6th annual inter– school literary contest “Reverberations” on Saturday. NMS had invited participants from all the CBSE schools around the island to showcase their extraordinary oratory skills and Linguistic skills through a Debate and a Spell Bee contest.

The students of The New Millennium School, Bahrain made their alma mater proud by winning the Rolling Trophy for the best performing school.

The Inter School Debate had two participants from Grades XI and XII from six CBSE schools debating for and against the motion “Present day Education system, aided with the advancement in AI, is making the human mind obsolete.”

Three best speakers each from the Proposition and Opposition stand, were felicitated with trophies and certificates.

From the Proposition Stand, Marwin Fransis kaitharath of The New Indian School clinched the 1st position, Adesh Deepthi Shaju of Bahrain Indian School bagged the second position and Mariam Fazal of Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School bagged the third place.

From the Opposition Stand, Meghana Anand Pappu of The Asian School bagged the 1st position while Aishwarya Lakshmi Sakthivel of New Millennium School, and Indraneil Thekkepat Rajesh of Bahrain Indian School bagged the second and the third positions respectively.

In the Spellathon contest, the team of New Millennium School comprising Nayonika Nair and Kainkrishnan clinched the winning title followed by Gayathri Sudheer and Diya Vivek of The Asian School bagging the second position and Adhwaith Anand and Vedavathy Venu of The Indian School bagging the third position. School Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai, Managing Director Geetha Pillai and Principal Arun Kuumar Sharma, applauded the efforts put in by the English Department in successfully organising the show.
