TRA takes centre stage at ITU’s Radiocommunication Assembly

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) actively engaged in the 23rd International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Radiocommunication Assembly (RA-23) with the goal of strengthening global collaboration in radiocommunications and digital technology advancement.
The event, hosted in the United Arab Emirates, emphasised the promotion of industry standards and solutions.
In addition to proposing agenda items for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23), the assembly endorsed sector recommendations and confirmed chairs for various committees.
The candidates for deputy chair positions in study groups included the TRA’s Mohammad Abu Saif as the nominee for Deputy Chairman of the first study group and Ahmed Hamada for the fifth study group.
These nominations are set for further evaluation during the committees’ forthcoming initial sessions.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of decisions focused on enhancing the ITU’s processes.
These decisions encompassed the regulation of sustainable radio frequency spectrum usage and associated satellite orbits employed by space services.
Additionally, there was a commitment to promoting gender equality by empowering women to actively participate and contribute within the ITU radiocommunications sector.
