BBK and BIBF launches second cohort of “Women on Board”

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking and in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), announced the launch of the second cohort of the 'Women on Board' program.
This initiative, supported by the Tamkeen Labour Fund, is dedicated to empowering Bahraini women to rise to leadership roles, including membership on board of directors.
A rigorous selection of 20 skilled women from a pool of over 300 candidates was made based on a meticulous selection criterion. BBK’s Group Chief Executive, Dr AbdulRahman Saif stated, "This specialized and qualitative program is designed to facilitate women's entry into corporate boards of directors and leadership positions.”
Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, the Chief Executive Officer of BIBF highlighted the importance of the Women on Board program, which comes as a direct response to the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and is aligned with the regulatory requirements of the CBB and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Anood Abbas, Head of the Leadership and Management Center at the BIBF, said: “The representation of women on the boards of companies is instrumental to ensure diversity and inclusion in strategic decision-making processes, and contributes to elevating the overall performance of any institution.”
