A brand new concept in seasonal dining is launching in November at Indigo Terrace, the rooftop restaurant at The Merchant House.
For 5-day periods only, exclusive chefs from across the world will be invited to create gastro-experiences for diners at the venue.
In collaboration with Gulf Air, the season will begin with Chef Memis Alkan serving up speciality Turkish cuisine, followed by Chef Paulo Sanapo, with his most popular Italian dishes.
Chef Memis will take over the kitchen everyday from Tuesday, 28th November until Saturday, 2nd December. His cooking style combines traditional Turkish cuisine with a contemporary European touch, reflecting his love of Mediterranean and European cuisines.
A graduate of the French Culinary Arts School, Chef Memis has spent nearly 20 years working at five-star properties, including the Marriott Hotels Group, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and Shangri-La Hotel.
He is currently the Head Chef of the Gloria Serenity Resort in Belek, Antalya. Then, between Tuesday, 30th January and Saturday, 3rd February, Chef Paolo will bring his culinary skills to bear at Indigo Terrace.
Chef Paolo is Executive Sous Chef at The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London.
Renowned for his expertise in Modern European Food, his culinary journey includes working under the influential chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, followed by a tenure at Gordon Ramsay's Savoy Grill.
Chef Paolo's career has taken him across the globe, with stints in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Australia.
His skills have earned him numerous accolades, including the title “Best in Class in Modern European Food” at the UK Hotelympia Chefs Cooking competition and nearly a dozen awards, including two Traveler’s Choice awards.
Each chef will prepare an exciting culinary programme for their short stays. During the promotion period, guests can enjoy a signature à la carte menu on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Fridays the experience is enhanced with a meticulously curated 5-course set dinner along with paired wines. On Saturdays, a tasteful brunch menu, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
For those who are unable to attend the 5-day programme, all the dishes will be available for a further 4 weeks on the menu at Indigo Terrace.
“Our guests will have the rare opportunity to savour the signature dishes of these two renowned chefs for a limited time.
This underscores our ongoing commitment to providing unparalleled dining experiences and aligns with Indigo Terrace’s reputation as a leading destination for food connoisseurs,” commented The Merchant House General Manager, Justin Kim.
Those interested in experiencing the chefs’ signature menus are strongly encouraged to make reservations ahead of time by calling 1667 8666.
