Leadership in cybersecurity: Huawei’s showcase at Arab International Cybersecurity Summit

Amidst the sweeping discussions and strategic deliberations at the recently concluded 2nd annual Arab International Cybersecurity Summit (AICS), Huawei emerged as a beacon of cybersecurity innovation, reinforcing its commitment to secure digital landscapes.
The summit, held under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, witnessed Huawei’s prominent role as the official Telecom Partner, showcasing cutting-edge solutions and advocating for collaborative cyber resilience in the Middle East.
Themed “Security, No Compromise, Your Advantage, Security,” AICS 2023, hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), gathered government regulators, industry professionals, and solution providers to fortify their cyber and IT infrastructure.
Huawei, a global ICT leader and a trusted entity in Bahrain and the Arab world, utilized this platform to underscore the criticality of cybersecurity and privacy protection.
Aziz Tang, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, articulated the company’s unwavering dedication to cybersecurity. “Customer trust and success are the foundation of our business, and we strive to live by this principle in every aspect of our business,” he affirmed.
At the heart of Huawei’s participation lay a demonstration of their cybersecurity assurance framework, showcasing an array of innovative solutions imbued with built-in security features.
The CEO of NCSC Bahrain, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, recognized Huawei’s pivotal role in advancing Bahrain’s cybersecurity. During his visit to the Huawei booth, he received a comprehensive briefing from Sultan Mahmood Malik, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Office, Huawei Gulf North, emphasizing Huawei’s commitment to building a safer and secure digital economy in Bahrain.
Highest standards
Sultan Mahmood Malik also delivered a keynote speech, shedding light on Huawei’s End-to-End Cybersecurity Assurance Framework.
“Cybersecurity is built into everything we do at Huawei,” Malik asserted, highlighting the rigorous processes from design and sourcing to delivery, ensuring the highest standards of cybersecurity.
In a panel discussion on “Public–Private Partnerships: Strengthening Collaboration for Enhanced Cyber Defense,” Kamal Zian, Chief Information Security Officer, Huawei Gulf North, emphasized the importance of regional events like AICS in fostering collaboration and addressing the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity.
Offerings
The Huawei booth at the event showcased an array of offerings, including the End-to-End Cybersecurity Assurance Framework, the Huawei Enterprise Cybersecurity & Privacy Protection Strategy, and innovative solutions such as Anti-Ransomware and All-Scenario Data Protection.
Additionally, Huawei spotlighted its secured and trusted carrier network, providing a fully protected 5G and F5G Transport Network, along with AI-based Managed Security Service, Qiankun Cloudexpress. Aligning with its commitment to a green and sustainable future, Huawei presented its Smart Green Data Centre and AI-powered Smart PV.
