Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, has officially launched the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 for the Middle East and Central Asia region.

The opening ceremony took place at Bahrain Polytechnic University, marking the Kingdom's role as host for the regional stage of the competition. This initiative aims to nurture and empower future ICT talent in the region.

With a focus on developing practical skills and knowledge in cloud computing, networking, and other cutting-edge technologies, the competition expects to attract over 20,000 students and 500 universities from across the Middle East and Central Asia.

"Huawei is deeply committed to fostering the growth of the ICT sector in Bahrain and throughout the region. The ICT Competition provides a valuable platform for talented students to showcase their skills, gain valuable industry experience, and potentially compete on a global stage."

Aziz Tang, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, told the Daily Tribune. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Ni Ruchi, representatives from Huawei, government officials, educators, and students.

It served as a platform to reaffirm Huawei's commitment to collaborating with partners in Bahrain and across the region to cultivate a robust and thriving ICT ecosystem. The competition runs until tomorrow, and the winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony.
