Export Bahrain has just wrapped up its second edition of ‘Export Week,’ marking a momentous milestone in its 5-year journey. This initiative featured an array of captivating workshops, enlightening sessions, and exciting activities throughout the entire month of November.
The aim was to empower and educate Bahraini-based exporters with the skills and knowledge they need to conquer the global market. As Export Bahrain’s anniversary coincided with this momentous event, it was a double celebration of their outstanding achievements since their establishment in 2018.
Over the past five years, Export Bahrain has been a driving force, forging strong alliances and partnerships and solidifying its position as a key player in the Kingdom’s export landscape.
Their unwavering dedication to knowledge exchange, skill development, and creating a thriving environment for Bahraini-based businesses has paved the way for exceptional opportunities on both regional and international fronts. Export Week witnessed a remarkable turnout of over 600 participants, which included business owners, investors, and local and international partners eagerly engaging in the festivities.
Over 21 influential speakers from diverse fields and sectors captivated audiences with their expertise, experiences, and stories through 16 inspiring sessions. These sessions featured renowned local and international entities, shedding light on the secrets of successful exporting from the Kingdom of Bahrain and leaving an indelible mark on various industries.
The sessions explored deep into the challenges and obstacles that Bahraini-based exporters may encounter on their export journeys, offering invaluable insights. From immersive workshops and thought-provoking panel talks to the dazzling display of Bahraini-based designers in a sensational fashion show in conjunction with the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week with the ambition to encourage emerging talents and highlight their collections under the spotlight, Export Week had it all.
The first events were held in cooperation with the Labour Fund ‘Tamkeen’ as part of the coinciding Global Entrepreneurship Week activities, which hosted other activities and events in collaboration with several prominent local and international partners. These bodies included the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), and others.
A significant focus was placed on enlightening exporters about government regulations and procedures when expanding abroad, with a special emphasis on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the MENA region. Esteemed regional and international entities such as TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in certification and conformity services, imparted their expertise, ensuring exporters have the tools they need to navigate these territories with ease.
Export Bahrain signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), sealing transformative partnerships with Alibaba.com and TÜV Rheinland during Export Week. With these game-changing alliances, Export Bahrain is set to enhance the exporting process from Bahrain, opening doors to new horizons in the international markets for Bahraini businesses. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of Export Bahrain, has stated: “As we conclude the second edition of ‘Export Week,’ it’s great to announce that this event has been a success, marking a significant chapter in Export Bahrain’s five-year journey.
