Export of National Origin products reach BD299 Million in November

Bahrain experienced a 3% growth in imports, reaching BD454 million in November 2023 compared to BD440 m in the same month of 2022, as per the November 2023 Foreign Trade report published by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).
The top 10 countries collectively contributed 71% to the import total. China topped imports to Bahrain with BD64m, followed by the United States of America at BD54m and Australia at BD42m.
The primary product imported was Other Aluminum Oxide, accounting for BD40m, with Parts for Aircraft Engines following at BD28m, and Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed ranking third with BD24m. Conversely, the value of exports of products with national origin decreased by 15% to BD299m in November 2023 compared to BD350m in the same month of 2022.
The top 10 countries constituted 73% of the total export value. Saudi Arabia secured the first position among countries for the exports of products with national origin, amounting to BD60m, followed by the United Arab Emirates with BD57m, and the United States of America with BD28m.
Unwrought Aluminium Alloys marked as the top products exported with BD68m, followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed at BD48m, and Aluminium wire not alloyed ranking third with BD19m. Re-exports witnessed a 15% increase, totalling BD74m in November 2023 compared to BD64m in the same month of 2022. The top 10 countries in re-exports accounted for 85% of the re-exported value, with the United Arab Emirates taking the lead at BD16.9m, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at BD16.8m, and Luxembourg at BD8m.
Turbo-Jets claimed the top spot among re-exported products from Bahrain, recording a value of BD15m, followed by Machinery for Filling Closing Containers at BD5m, and Four Wheel Drive securing the third position with BD4.7m. The trade balance, representing the difference between exports and imports, saw a deficit of BD82m in November 2023, compared to a deficit of BD26m in the same month of the previous year, reflecting a significant increase of 218%.
