National workforce vital to industrial competitiveness: Bahrain Labour Minister

Labour Minister HE Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan highlighted the crucial role of various sectors, particularly the industrial sector, in boosting Bahrain's economic standing and creating promising opportunities for citizens.
During his visit to the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, he emphasised the significance of relying on national cadres to enhance the competitiveness of Bahrain in attracting industrial investments.
The Minister acknowledged the ongoing efforts to motivate companies and industrial institutions to offer training opportunities for graduates of technical and vocational education.
He underlined the importance of integrating these trained individuals into the growing industrial sector, attributing its expansion to the development policies pursued by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The minister was received by Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company’s Board of Directors, and other officials.
During the visit, the Minister learned about the company's achievements in employing national workers, noting with praise that the Bahrainisation rate stands at an impressive 93%.
Moreover, the company proudly maintains a 100% Bahrainisation rate for the first grade of managers and the second grade of department heads.
Minister Humaidan expressed his gratitude to companies and institutions supporting the Ministry's initiatives and programs in employing national cadres.
He specifically commended the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company for its efforts in relying on Bahraini workers, considering it a model for investing in the national workforce and opening new horizons.
Highlighting the success stories of national workers in production and development, the Minister emphasised that industrial companies embracing Bahraini human resources play a crucial role in the growth of companies and elevate the Kingdom's competitiveness regionally in attracting industrial investments.
He also emphasised the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Labour and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to support the industrial sector with qualified and trained citizens.
Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed affirmed the company's commitment to relying on national cadres in various positions.
He shared insights into the company's future plans to employ more citizens, praising the loyalty, dedication, and contributions of Bahraini workers to the development of the company's facilities.
The Chairman also lauded the Ministry of Labour and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) for their efforts in qualifying job seekers to facilitate their integration into the industrial sector.
He expressed gratitude for the visit, noting its significance in supporting the endeavours of companies and institutions to employ national workers and contribute to Bahrain's economic growth.
