Fifth World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum to focus on innovation and sustainable growth

The upcoming 5th edition of the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF), themed “Achieving the SDGs through Fostering Innovation and Economic Growth,” is scheduled to take place from May 14th to 16th this year.

The Bahrain Chamber, in a press conference held at its headquarters yesterday, announced that the event will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

During the conference, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla Fakhro, underscored Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable growth and its utilization of innovative solutions to address global challenges, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

He emphasized Bahrain’s historical prowess in innovation and urged entrepreneurs and businesses to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the conference.

Likewise, Sameer Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, affirmed that the Forum epitomizes the leadership’s dedication to entrepreneurship and investment, noting the supportive environment and programs established for sustainable development, which have positioned Bahrain as an innovation leader.

He highlighted the Chamber’s collaborative efforts with the government to foster entrepreneurship and economic diversification.

The 5th edition of the forum will cover various topics aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation across sectors.

These include forging partnerships for Arab and African entrepreneurs, establishing conducive ecosystems for business innovation, and advocating sustainable practices such as financial inclusion and green technology.

Additionally, it will examine the role of educational and research institutions in driving innovation, as well as empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve economic autonomy.

Briefs about the Forum were also provided by Sonia Janahi, a board member of the Bahrain Chamber, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Ambassador Ali bin Ebrahim Al-Malki,

Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs of the Arab League, and Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of the Regional Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Investment and Technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
