RCSI Bahrain’s Future Doctors event

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) welcomed a group of 25 high school students and teachers from around the Middle East region to its campus in Busaiteen, for the university’s inaugural Future Doctors programme.

The aim of the initiative, organised and run by RCSI Bahrain’s Student Recruitment team over the course of three days, was to introduce the attendees to the ‘life of a student at RCSI Bahrain’ and the ‘life of a doctor’ by engaging them in a host of academic and non-academic activities.

The visitors were treated to a series of hands-on, interactive workshops presented by RCSI Bahrain senior academic staff as well as advice on specialist postgraduate careers in the field of medicine. Among the attendees were Grade 11 and Grade 12 students – potential applicants for 2016/17 or 2017/18 academic years – and teachers from schools in Qatar, Oman, the UAE, Jordan and Kuwait.
