The heart of teaching
Manama : Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Senior Post Graduate Teacher Sunil A Pillai, one of the excellent teachers the school had in recent years, bid farewell to Bahrain after more than seven years of meritorious service.
Mr Sunil Pillai who joined the Indian School in September 2008, was teaching Physics for class 11 and 12 students of the school. He came to Bahrain after availing ten years of leave from the government of Kerala where he was working in a Senior Higher Secondary School in his hometown Mavelikkara.
Mr Sunil Pillai who has contributed a lot to the ISB in the field of education and other house based competitions and activities, is the author of Class XI and class XII practical Physics text book which is being followed by more than 100 Higher Secondary Schools in Kerala. He also served as ISB housemaster three times and led his house to victory in 2013 ‘There is a general consensus among his students, both past and present, that Mr Sunil Pillai is the best Physics teacher we have had in recent years.
Many of us considered Physics as a boring and difficult subject. However, Mr Sunil Pillai has helped to change our mindset. He has also helped to increase the percentage of passes for the subject over the years’, a student admired him on Facebook. He will rejoin for duty in Kerala government service next month, as part of his next assignment.
