Bahrain school students show off their skills

Three students from Bahrain School in Juffair have dominated the 2016 European Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS), winning the Science and Mathematics categories.

About sixty participants from five countries took part in the event that was held in Riedstadt, Germany. They were from Bahrain, Italy, Germany, Turkey and Belgium.

Competition was fierce this year in all categories, but Faisal Fakhro, Doyle Weishar, and Felicia Koithan, three of the school’s brightest science and mathematics students, showed off their skills in the tough competition that included oral presentations and testing in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

Fakhro and Weishar participated in the oral presentations. Fakhro investigated using compressed air to cool stationary cars and was awarded the fifth place, while Doyle investigated optimization of tread alignment for traversing inclined surfaces.

In the testing, the Bahrain School team was awarded first place in both the Science and Mathematics categories.  Faisal secured first place in Physics and Chemistry.  The team worked very well in winning first place overall in both categories.

Bahrain School has paid rich tribute to its three representatives who accepted the challenges of JSHS and were able to meet and exceed expectations.
