Dr BR Ambedkar commemorated

Manama : The 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian constitution and the first law minister of India, was  celebrated by the Embassy of India in association with the Asian School Bahrain yesterday. 

Chief Guest, Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha, inaugurated the programme and delivered the keynote address. 

There were cultural programmes including debate, speech, quiz etc, on Dr Ambedkar. 

The participating schools were:  Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School, Asian School, New Millennium School, Indian School, New Indian School, Al Noor International School and Bahrain Indian School.   

Present at the event were Indian Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Ram Singh, Second Secretary Anand Prakash, ICRF Chairman Bhagwan Asarpota, Asian School Chairman Joseph Thomas, Principals of the various schools and other eminent dignitaries. 

Competitions based on Dr. Ambedkar’s life were conducted in all the participating schools. The winners were awarded trophies by the Indian Embassy. 

Posters made by the students of the Asian School on Dr Ambedkar were displayed on the same day in the auditorium and were appreciated by the Ambassador.
