BSB celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday
Manama : The British School of Bahrain (BSB) celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday yesterday.
British Ambassador Simon Martin, Mrs. Martin and family were also present on the occasion. The celebration included playing of the national anthem and also cutting of a birthday cake in honour of the Queen.
Students and staff participated in a theme of red, white and blue for the day, including a street party and patron’s lunch serving traditional British food.
On the occasion, Rashad Janahi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees said, “It is an amazing opportunity for us as a school community to come together to say thank you to the Queen for her unstinting service. Her dedication to the Commonwealth and international affairs and deep involvement in many charity activities throughout her years as monarch are laudable.”
The British Embassy will celebrate the Queen’s birthday on April 27 at 6.30pm.
