Science exam first level result declared

Manama: The results of the first level of the nationwide science talent search examination (Sastra Pratibha Contest 2016) jointly organized by Science India Forum Bahrain, National Science Movement of India and supported by Embassy of India Bahrain and Indian Space Research Organization have  been declared.

8087 students from 8 schools in Bahrain participated in the first level contest held on June 2. 129 students secured A+ grade (scored 80% and above) and 559 students secured A grade (scored 60% to 79%). From the A+ grade students, 10 top scorers each from grade 5 to grade 12 (total 80 students) are selected for the second level Sastra Pratibha Contest. 

A Bahraini student Salman Jassim Ali Ahmed from Quality Education School following British Curriculum scored more than 80% marks and won A+ grade and qualified for the second level contest. 

The second level contest which will be conducted as a science camp durinG first week of October 2016 will have quiz, scientific reasoning, audio-visual aptitude and viva voce rounds at the Asian School Bahrain premises. The students will also present their research paper prepared by them on the given topic at the science camp and the above five assessments will decide the 16 Sastra Pratibhas (2 each from grade 5 to 12). 

The Sastra Pratibhas will have the unique opportunity to visit prominent scientific establishments in India and to interact with senior scientists working there. The entire contests and the visits are free of cost to students.

SIF President Rajeesh Kumar and Secretary Prasanth Dharmaraj said  that this year the students from Bahrain will get the opportunity to participate in the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
