St.Chris students prove they're class act with awards

ManamaSt Christopher’s School Year 6 and 7 ‘Celebration of Achievement’ took place at the Saar Campus yesterday. 

‘Achievement Awards’ and the Principal’s Award were presented to the students by St Christopher’s Principal Ed Goodwin, while ‘Progress and Effort Awards’ were presented by Head of the Infant School Ian Fellows, ‘Citizenship and Learning Awards’ by Head of the Junior School Wendy Bataineh and ‘Class and Form Awards’ by Head of the Senior School Nick Wilson.

Thirty-nine students were conferred with ‘Academic Achievement Awards’, while 39 others were recognised for their ‘Outstanding Progress’ and 18 were presented ‘Effort Awards.’ ‘Citizenship Awards’, ‘Global Citizenship Awards’ ‘Autonomous Learner Awards’, ‘Class Teacher/Form Tutor Awards’ and ‘Class Peer’ awards were presented to 14 students each.

Abbie Marshall from Year 6 and Maisie Brandreth from Year 7 were awarded ‘Overall Global Citizen Awards’.

Kyla Reekie (Year 6) and Anae Dreyer (Year 7) received Year Leader/Head of Year Awards, while Fatima Abbady (Year 6) and Max Chadwick (Year 7) were the 2016 Principal’s Award recipients.

A welcome address was given by Bataineh, followed by introductions by Rob van der Eyken, Year Leader for Year 6, and Kathryn Beck, Head of Year 7.
