University of Bahrain students get out of syllabus lessons
Manama : The Ministry of Works yesterday briefed students from University of Bahrain (UoB) on the Ministry’s mission and scope of work in general and the roads sector in particular.
Road Planning and Design Directorate of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning received the engineering students to inform them about the Ministry and its role in improving the infrastructure services in the Kingdom.
Students were introduced to the Roads Planning and Design Directorate, which is responsible for preparing studies and designs necessary for revamping roads and also for building news roads.
The directorate is responsible for preparing studies needed for organising traffic in residential and commercial areas and assessing congested areas in order to find ways to ease congestion.
The students were also briefed on the Roads Projects and Maintenance Directorate, which is responsible for actual implementation, in addition to supervising construction and maintenance of roads projects.
