New Indian School marks Yoga Day
Manama : The New Indian School(NIS) under the patronage of the Indian Embassy celebrated the Second International Day of Yoga.
Indian Embassy Second Secretary Anand Prakash was the Guest of Honour. International Day of Yoga has been initiated, pioneered and advocated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to promote a healthy living and a sound mind which would help harness an individual’s inner strength.
A glimpse of the Indian Prime Minister’s message and that of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the eve of 2nd International Day of Yoga was shown to the students along with a video presentation emphasizing on the importance of Yoga in the lives of the students.
Mr. Anand Prakash in his address congratulated the school for celebrating the day with zest and fervour and carrying forth the vision of the Indian Prime Minister. He highlighted on the importance of Yoga and how essential it is for the students to invest time in practising it in their daily lives. School Director & Principal, Dr. V. Gopalan in his speech also emphasized on the invaluable benefits of yoga that helps build not only a healthy mind and a sound body but also leads to developing a strong individual.
Yoga postures were demonstrated by the Physical Education Department and the students meticulously and enthusiastically followed the instructions.
