St Christopher’s School participate in the ‘Voices Around the World’ project

Singers at St Christopher’s School were recently featured in an exciting video and song release of an international charitable singing project called ‘Voices Around the World’.

Students across the world recorded a song called ‘Lighting Up The Flame’ written by project founder Mr Laurie Lewin. All recordings were then mixed into a final edit containing nearly 7,000 different voices from schools across the world, and funds raised will help to support a school in Njombe, Tanzania.

Kristina Bourner, Music teacher and Community Service Coordinator at St Chris, said “The project has provided students with a fantastic opportunity to help others through singing. Our singers were delighted to be involved in the project and are excited about the release of the single. We hope that the St Christopher’s and Bahrain community will help to support the project by downloading a copy of the video! Every penny goes straight towards helping St Mary’s School in Njombe, Tanzania.”

The Voices Around the World team are raising money to improve the buildings, facilities and quality of teaching at St Mary’s, and aim to significantly improve education for children in Njombe. The living conditions for the children are difficult – many of them have been orphaned due to the high impact of aids/HIV in this part of Tanzania.

To help the singers of St Christopher’s School on their mission to support the children in Tanzania, download your copy of ‘Lighting Up The Flame’ from the Voices Around The World website today!
