St Christopher’s Sharks attend Swimming Meet
Members of the St Christopher’s Sharks team travelled to Dubai to compete in the Hamilton Aquatics Short Course swimming meet on the weekend of 21-22 October.
“Swimmers had to meet specific qualification times in order to enter the competition, and competed against other athletes from around the Gulf. Our team which consisted of Senior swimmers; Roma Vrijhof, Amalie Nielsen, Fabiola Matthias, Farah van der Kooi and Junior swimmer Slade Camara competed in a range of events over the weekend. Most swimmers achieved personal best times in many events and podium positions were gained,” a school official said.
Farah achieved bronze in 50m Breaststroke, Fabiola bronze in 100m Backstroke and Roma gold in 50m Backstroke and bronze in 100m Backstroke. Roma’s results were particularly impressive with her being the lower age in her age category and she also achieved qualifying times in both the 50m and 100m Backstroke for the Dutch Nationals.
A fantastic weekend of swimming by all athletes. Well done St Chris Sharks!
