Under the patronage of the Indian Embassy, ICRF held this year’s art carnival titled ‘Faber Castell - Spectra 2016’ on Friday at the Indian School.

The event was inaugurated by Indian Embassy First Secretary   Meera Sisodia  in the presence of ICRF Chairman Bhagwan Asarpota, General Secretary  Aruldas Thomas, Spectra Convener  U K Menon, Indian School Chairman  Prince S  Natarajan and other ICRF volunteers.

Around 1,300 children from various schools in Bahrain participated  in the competition after being selected in the preliminary rounds organized in their respective schools.  Students from over 9 countries participated.  This annual event aims at unearthing artistic talents among the youth and creating a future generation who would be catalysts for social change.

The results will be announced and the winners will be honored during the finale to be held on November 26  at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall, Segaya.

The winning entries and other outstanding creations by the children will figure in the Wall Calendars and Desk-Top Calendars designed for the year 2017. These calendars will be launched at the finale by Indian Ambassador  Alok Kumar Sinha  on Saturday.  A large number of each of these calendars will be made available to educational institutions, clubs, associations and businesses.  Net proceeds from the competition will go towards providing relief to Indian labourers drawing wages below BD100 per month.
