Indian School Bahrain little performers celebrates India @ 70

Manama : The tiny tots of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Riffa campus took to the stage  to celebrate their Youth Festival titled India @ 70.

The colourful  programme  of the  LKG students saw the lighting of the Amar Jyothi(Eternal Flame)  and snippets from the Indian freedom movement.

Indian soldier Mangal Pandey, Lakshmibai, the Rani of Jhansi, Poet Rabidranath Tagore, Sarojini Naidu who is known as  the Nightingale of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, and Indian revolutionary socialist Baghat Singh came live on stage in the form of students dressed up so.

The colorful festival saw children dressed in a wide variety of dresses performing songs and dance from different states of India.

The students presented dances depicting the various strides that the nation had made under the guidance of each of the Great Figures of India.

The youth fest for LKG culminated yesterday when the role of Indian nationalist Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru were  showcased along with the progress that India has made over the 70 years. 

The teachers trained the students over a period of time and the parents played a significant role by sending students fully dressed and ready for the program.
