Tamil Day celebrated in Indian School Bahrain
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Department of Tamil celebrated the Tamil Day which marks the first day of the four-day long Pongal Festival in the Isa Town campus in a glittering function.
Tamil Nadu Ex-MLA Advocate M G K Nizamudeen who was the Chief Guest of the function lighted the lamp. In his address Mr Nizamudeen praised the land of Bahrain that welcomes all cultures wholeheartedly.
In his interactive address to the students he explained the status of Tamil language and how the festival of Pongal is celebrated over the years in Tamil Nadu.
Coordinator Reji Job welcomed the gathering. ISB Vice-Chairman Muhammed Iqbal in his address conveyed his greetings to one and all and spoke about the beauty of Tamil language.
There were a few scintillating regional art performances, which the students of the school presented.
Commerce Department HOD Dr. M Rasheed proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme was attended by the Staff Representative Priya Laji, Head Teachers, staff, community leaders and students of the school.
