Sports Day celebrated in various Bahrain campuses
Manama : Students in Bahrain participated in the first-ever Bahrain Sports Day held in the country in an attempt to promote sport and health-enhancing physical activities.
To commemorate the Sports Day, a series of sporting events were held at the New Millennium School, DPS-Bahrain. Students from the junior and senior sections of the school enthusiastically participated in various events like relay, hurdle and sprint. The staff members competed with the students in a friendly football match and won the match by two goals.
The school Principal Arun Kuumar Sharma addressed the students and emphasized on the importance of sports in a student’s life. He applauded the efforts of the students and the teachers for making the event a huge success. He also thanked the Ministry of Education for giving opportunity to the Schools to be the part of Bahrain Sports Day.
New Horizon School
The New Horizon School celebrated Bahrain Sports Day by conducting walkathon and aerobics sessions in which the management, staff, care takers, support staff and teaching faculty participated. The day was concluded imbibing awareness of the need to have a sound mind in a sound body.
AMA International University
AMA International University - Bahrain (AMAIUB) celebrated the day with a “warm-up” walkathon in which AMAIUB academic and non-academic heads, faculty, staff, students, and alumni participated. This was followed by the various sports competitions, namely: football, basketball, and table tennis, which enriched the values of camaraderie and unity among the members of the University community. Bahrain Futsal team captain Mohamed Alsharqawi was the guest of honour. Winners of the different sports events received medals and trophies. The Sports Day was spearheaded by the AMAIUB Sports Club.
