Bahrain School participates in VEX championship
Manama : The Bahrain Middle School Robotics team, ‘Lord of the Bots’ travelled to Louisville, Kentucky for VEX Worlds on April 20. Owen, Cayden, Emily, and Mira represented the school at the event. Doyle, a senior at Bahrain School, mentored the team.
The club started in the beginning of the 2016-17 school year, under the mentorship of Larry Chanin, with their eyes set on the VEX Regional Championship held in Bahrain. Students in the Robotics’ Club have been designing and engineering their robot since early October 2016. The team won the “Excellence Award”, qualifying them for the world championship. “This is one of the best rookie teams that I have had the privilege to work with”, stated Chanin.
VEX-IQ is a robotics competition for elementary and middle school students, based on a sports model.. There were 40 nations represented at this year’s competition
