93.4pc pass in GCSE exam
Manama : A total of 93.4 per cent students passed General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examination, with 6,058 regular students, and 126 irregular students graduating in the first session, Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said yesterday.
Approving the results of the first session of GCSE, and the Technical Secondary School Certificate results, the Minister said that the success rate at boys’ technical schools reached 94.4 per cent. Dr. Al-Nuaimi asserted that the success rate was expected to increase in the second session.The results also showed an increase in the number of toppers who scored 95 per cent or above. Figures indicated that there were 737 toppers, including 539 girls and 198 boys this year compared to only 599 last year.
The minister affirmed that the better results were the outcome of the development projects implemented by the ministry during the current academic year.
