St Christopher’s School holds prize day

Manama : St Christopher’s School held ‘Prize Day 2017’ at the St Chris Saar Campus recently to recognise the accomplishments of the Senior School Students. The event was held in the presence of Guest of Honour, British Ambassador Simon Martin. Masters of Ceremony were: Deputy Head Girls, Bayan Al Turabi and Zein Osseiran, and Deputy Head Boys, Matthew Holman and Nazar Yousef. The opening address was given by Nick Wilson, Head of Senior School. This was followed by a musical interlude: Etude by Carl Czerny was performed by Thomas Milnes on the Piano, Thoughts of Love by Arthur Pryor was performed by Marco Maggi on the Trombone and Nyah by Hans Zimmer was performed by SenCris Guitar Ensemble.

Year 8 prizes and awards were presented by Ed Goodwin, Principal of St Christopher’s. Years 9 and 10 prizes and awards were presented by David Axtell, Deputy Chair of the Board of Governors, and Years 11 and 12 prizes and awards, as well as special awards were presented by Britsih Ambassador Simon Martin.

Subject prizes were awarded including individual prizes, honourable mentions, form prizes and Head of Year prizes. Students were also recognised for receiving their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze, Silver and Gold International awards, accomplishments in music and the Outstanding Academic Achievement awards which were presented to St Christopher’s Students in January 2017.
