Bahrain Polytechnic hosts curriculum advisory meeting

Manama : More than forty-four members of the industry from across the Kingdom participated in the Bahrain Polytechnic Curriculum Advisory Kick-off Meeting at the Movenpick Hotel, held under the patronage of Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Polytechnic’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees. 

The aim of the meeting was to discuss and receive feedback from industry partners in regards to the Polytechnic’s curricula as per their expertise. This ensures that Polytechnic graduates are up-to-date with the latest trends in the labour market.

Ema Janahi, Director of Academic Development and Commercial & Community Initiatives, commented: “We held a session for each of our programmes which included several academic staff and industry members.

“We are committed to collaborate with the industry and utilize our partnerships to produce work-ready graduates. Through Curriculum Advisory Groups, Bahrain Polytechnic is able to have continuous communication and collaboration with its industry partners, enabling it to constantly update its programmes and keep the currency of the curriculum,” stated Janahi.

Prior to the sessions, the opening ceremony included a speech from Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, where he thanked the curriculum advisory group members for their support to developing Bahrain Polytechnic’s curriculum. This was followed by a speech by the Polytechnic’s CEO, Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, who expressed his appreciation for the Board of Trustees, industry partners and staff for their patience and dedication to continually meet the goals of the institution.

Noor Alaraifi, Industry Liaison Coordinator, delivered a presentation on the new formula and process for the curriculum advisory groups. Additionally, Ema Janahi delivered a presentation on employability framework.
