Evacuation drill by civil defence at BIS

Manama : Bahrain Indian School conducted an “Evacuation Drill” in co-ordination with Ministry of Interior yesterday The purpose of the drill was to assess the effectiveness and adequacy of the School’s Emergency Plan.

Prior to the drill, officials from General Directorate of Civil Defence, Mohammed Jahangir and Mehran Fazal conducted a workshop for the students and staff members.

The goal of the workshop was to share the work plan in case of an emergency situation and how to carry out emergency evacuations by following the standard procedures. They also checked the effectiveness of the alarm as well the fire fighting equipments.

The honourable presenters shared the real life incidents as examples and reflected on what went wrong in those situations so as to avoid reoccurrence of the similar mistakes. It was an interactive session as they spoke to students, solved their queries and in the end shared a diagram to explain the entire concept of evacuation. 

In order to give a practical learning, a mock drill was done and other implementation procedures were conducted. 

Overall it was an experiential and engrossing session where BIS fraternity got benefitted. 

School Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma thanked the entire team of officials from Civil Defence and handed over appreciation letters for their efforts in improving the safety processes and procedures of BIS.
