Shakespeare on stage at BIS
Manama : The theatre came alive as students of Grade VI, VII and VIII of different houses presented plays of Shakespeare today at Bahrain Indian School.
Shakespearean era was relived as the students were dressed up in attires which suited the roles.
The costumes were bright and vibrant, music was used to telling effect, the acting superlative and the themes of the play were well represented. A few plays were enacted using the original script and others using the abridged versions.
The audience witnessed four plays namely Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, King Lear and Julius Caesar.
The plays aroused interest and curiosity in the minds of the other students to read and enjoy literature of the Shakespearean times.
School Management appreciated and applauded the efforts as put in by the students and teachers in refreshing our memories about the Shakespearean Literature and its times.
