Six AMAIUB students qualifies HUAWEI ICT Skill Competition

Six AMAIUB students, namely Hajar Adel Abdulla Abdulrahim Ismaeel, Muddassar Laif A. Latif S. Asrwani, Faizan Mohammad Mustafa, Ali Ebrahim Salman, Munther Ebrahim Abdulla Mohamed Salmeen and Mohamad Fathallah El Mufti, topped the local level competition and qualify for the national level for the first ever HUAWEI ICT Skill Competition Middle East 2017. Amongst themselves four students are from the College of Computer Studies whereas the remaining two are from the College of Engineering. 

Under the leadership of Dr. Safeullah Soomro, Dean of College of Computer Studies, Dr. Mahdi H. Miraz and Dr. MarryAnne Taquiqui supervised the students for the local level competition held online at AMAIUB, proctored by Huawei members of staff. 

HUAWEI ICT Skill Competition Middle East 2017, being first time conducted in the Middle East, focuses mainly on the knowledge domains of Routing, Switching, Network Security and Cloud Computing. 

AMAIUB students were invited to participate in a three days long intensive workshop at the state-of-the-art Huawei Lab (Huawei HQ Bahrain) conducted by Huawei trainer coming all the way from Dubai. The workshop was conducted from November 16 to 18. 

Dr. Mahdi H. Miraz has also participated the workshop as a mentor for AMAIUB students. AMAIUB students will compete at the national level in December 2017. Winners of the national level will be sponsored to participate in the international level to be held in China.
