Vishwa Hindi Divas 2018 at Indian School Bahrain
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Hindi Department celebrated Vishwa Hindi Divas 2018 in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in vibrant colours on Wednesday (10.1.2018) at the school’s Jashanmal Auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha in the presence of Indian Embassy Second Secretary Anand Prakash, Indian Embassy TIC Rudresh Kumar Singh, ISB EC Members Jayafar Maidani, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy and the Vice-Principals.
In his speech Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha highlighted the contribution of Hindi Language. He read out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message for Vishwa Hindi Divas. The Ambassador appreciated the effort put in by the Indian School towards the celebration of Vishwa Hindi Divas in a grand manner.
The programme started with the National Anthem of Bahrain and India and the school prayer followed by the lighting of the lamp. Hindi Department HOD Ibadur Rahman welcomed the gathering. ISB EC Member Mohammad Khursheed Aalam in his speech said that Hindi Language has lots of good qualities to be the connecting language in India. Through this language any person can communicate in any part of India, a multilingual country, he said.
Earlier as the first phase of the celebrations, Inter-school Competitions were organized on 6th January in which Hand Writing Competition for Std. IV, Poem Recitation for Std. V & VI, Poster Making Competition for classes VII & VIII and Inter school Debate for classes IX & X were held. The second phase yesterday consisted of Inter-school Solo Song competition. The Asian School, the New Millennium School, Al Noor International School, the New Indian School, Bahrain Indian School, New Horizon School and Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School were the other CBSE schools which took part in the competitions and the celebrations.
Apart from the competitions there were lots of variety programmes such as Hindi Skit named ‘ Shiksha ka Mahatva’ with a theme ‘Value of Education’, Sanskrit Song, Dances and value based Song ‘Insaaf ki dagar pe, bachchon dikhao chalke’. At the end of the program all winners were awarded with a trophy, certificate and books by the chief guest.
