British School Bahrain hosts Model UN
Manama : The British School Bahrain hosted their fifth annual Model United Nations conference at the Radisson Blu Diplomat hotel.
The conference was attended by nearly 200 attendees and over 10 schools from all over the GCC.
Delegates joined councils such as the Security Council, DISEC, Human Rights, The British House of Commons, the Olympic Committee and Bilderberg to debate some hot topics in the world today.
Issues that were debated included how to decide who hosts the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, the manipulation of personal social media and it’s misuse, combating drug trafficking in South America, Panama papers and sectarian violence and terrorism in Pakistan.
Keynote speaker, El Sharkawi, United Nations Resident Coordinator & Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) gave Delegates an inspirational speech on ‘Generation Hope’.
“We are very much looking forward to BRITMUN VI, which will take place on 12th and 13th October 2018 at the Radisson Blu Diplomat Hotel in Manama, Bahrain,” a school official said.
