Orientation programme held at NMS

Manama NMS-DPS hosted an Orientation Programme for the session 2018-19  to equip and empower the students of the tenth grade about the criteria of stream selection in Grade XI, the senior secondary wing.

The session saw the parents along with their wards in attendance. The heads of departments of the three streams, namely, Science, Commerce and Humanities spoke at length about the proficiency and study skills required for each. They also explained the opportunities that the pursuit of studies in these streams would lead with apt powerpoint presentations to drive home the point. The availability of a host of optional subjects along with the career prospects was also well outlined.

The school Principal, Arun Kuumar Sharma delineated the students’ interest and aptitude as key factors in the selection of stream. He also upheld the need to research and to gauge cognitive abilities to determine the inclination of the students.

This was followed by an interactive session and the parents posed their queries which were pertinently answered by the facilitators. Overall, it was indeed a beneficial session.
