Al Noor celebrates Cambridge results

Al Noor International School held its IGCSE, AS and A Level graduation ceremony for students to celebrate the Cambridge results obtained in June 2015, at the Gulf Convention Centre on Sunday.

The event was held under the patronage of Ministry of Education’s Private and Continuous Education Assistant Under Secretary Dr A Ghani Saleh Al Shuwaikh, who handed out the graduation certificates.

School Chairman Ali Hassan congratulated the students on their accomplishments and wished them success in their future endeavours. Addressing the audience, School Director Dr Muhammad Mashood, reminded the students that the ceremony symbolises the beginning of their further studies.

He told the students that there is always more to do, more to learn and more to achieve, irrespective of how much they had done, or of how successful they had been in the past.

School Principal Rashid Mandi praised the outstanding results obtained by the IGCSE, AS and A Level students and referred the school’s achievements during the course of the past academic year. Out of a total of 353 students who received their certificates, 148 were from the IGCSE section, 103 from AS Level and 102 from A Level.

More than fifty per cent of the students, who wrote the IGCSE examinations,  obtained A*, A and B grades. Fatima Masood Ahmed Albastaki and Kevin Fernando delivered the valedictory speeches on behalf of the IGCSE and AS/A Level students respectively.

Kevin mentioned that the certificates they had received demonstrated that they had developed a strong sense of responsibility, which will enable them to persevere and never waiver from their course of action.

Fatima thanked the school teachers for their unwavering faith in them and for equipping them with the skills to face the challenges they will face on leaving the school.
