  • Adliya Supermarket is organising a month-long campaign called ‘Pinoy Fest,’ which comprises a wide range of products imported from the Philippines, a raffle draw and various promotions for customers, starting today, at 10:00am, in Adliya. Guest of Honour, Ambassador Sahid S. Glang, will inaugurate the campaign. Everyone is invited.
  • To mark the conclusion of the ‘Great British Week,’ St. Christopher’s Cathedral, Manama will host ‘A Celebration of Great British Music’ tonight at 6pm. The event will bring together some of Bahrain’s finest musicians, including the ‘Manama String Quartet’. Tickets are priced at BD5 and will be available on the door of the venue tonight.
  • The ‘Golden Jubilee Grand Finale Meeting’ of the Mar Thoma Parish Bahrain, will be held tomorrow at 11:00am at the Jeshanmal Auditorium, the Indian School, Isa Town. His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan  will preside over the meeting. Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Republic of India, Professor K.V. Thomas, will be the Chief Guest and DT News Chief Editor Soman Baby, will be the Guest of Honour. Vicar General of Mar Thoma Parish Bahrain, Very Rev. T.K Mathew, will also attend the meeting.
  • The Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research announced the upcoming ‘Calligraphy Workshop: An Introduction to the Art of Ruqaa,’ to be conducted  by Calligrapher Saad Busaad. This workshop will be held from February 1 until February 26. Application is open to everyone.  Participation will be by selection and there is a course fee. The deadline for submission of applications will be on Sunday.

  • Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was hailed by Southern Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa for directing the governorate to re-initiate his ‘Best Camp Award for the 2013–2014’ for the camping season in February. Shaikh Abdulla explained that the award honours citizens who contribute to preserving wildlife and maintaining the heritage of the ancestors and details about the competition will be announced soon by the governorate.
