The ‘Golden Jubilee Grand Finale Meeting’ of the Mar Thoma Parish Bahrain, will be held today at 11:00am at the Jashanmal Auditorium, Indian School, Isa Town. His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan will preside over the meeting. Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of India, Professor K.V. Thomas, will be Chief Guest and DT News Chief Editor Soman Baby, will be Guest of Honour. Vicar General of Mar Thoma Parish Bahrain, Very Rev. T.K Mathew, will also attend the meeting.

Bird breeders and enthusiasts will enjoy a variety of gorgeous-looking birds at the ‘14th Edition of the Bahrain Ornamental Birds Federation Exhibition,’ which will be held in Riffa Club hall, West Riffa today at 4:00pm. The event is supervised by the Federation President, Isa Al Khatir.

Under the patronage of Sunni Auqaf, Kingdom of Bahrain, Al Ansar Centre is conducting an ‘Islamic Speech’ tonight at 7:45pm at the Al Fateh Mosque (Grand Mosque) Juffair. Renowned scholar and orator, Shaikh Abdul Jabbar Abdulla Al Madeeni from Saudi Arabia will be the Guest Speaker.

The ‘Discover Bahrain’ programme will be launched today. The organising committee is hosting a reception in Muharraq to honour the 19 visitors to Bahrain from 12 countries. Head of Logistics Committee Abdullah Murad said that they have prepared a one-week programme for the visitors.

The Embassy of India will be closed on Sunday, on account of the ‘Republic Day of India’ on January 26.

American Mission Hospital will be holding a ‘Walk-a-thon’ today, for ‘Breast Cancer Awareness.’ The event will be held under the patronage of Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi at the Amwaj Lagoon. Registration starts at 2:00pm. Entry fee is BD2. All proceeds raised through this event will be utilised for free breast cancer screenings in Bahrain.
