Al Najma clinched the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) Cup, narrowly defeating Al Shabab 29-28 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town. The match kept fans on the edge of their seats with its intense back-and-forth action, ending in dramatic fashion.

With just over two minutes left on the clock and Shabab closing in at 27-28, Mahdi Saad of Al Najma made a crucial shot from the six-meter line, extending their lead to two points.

Al Shabab’s Ahmed Jalal responded immediately, bringing the score to 28-29. That said, both teams struggled to score in the final moments, and Al Najma managed to maintain their slim lead.

The first half was equally competitive, with Al Najma holding a 15-14 lead at the break. Both teams displayed strong defensive and offensive strategies, setting the stage for a tense second half.

This victory was particularly sweet for Al Najma as it denied Al Shabab the chance to add another trophy to their collection.

Al Shabab had previously won the title in the 2023-24 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League, where Al Najma had finished third.

Following the match, the General Sports Authority CEO, Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, presented the medals to both the winners and the runners-up.

Al Najma’s Mohammed Mirza received the trophy, marking a successful end to a hard-fought season.
