KHK MMA’s Ikram Aliskerov is set to make history as he will be headlining the first-ever UFC event in Saudi Arabia, scheduled to be held at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on June 22.

A prime example of the impact of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s vision for MMA in the region, Ikram Aliskerov’s representation in the historic event on June 22 is not only a huge moment for MMA in Bahrain but also for the sport in the entire MENA region.

It was in 2015 that the KHK MMA team was formed under the guidance of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa with the vision of developing MMA fighters from the region. Over the years, the team has been home to legendary names like Islam Makhachev, Frankie Edgar, and Khabib Nurmagomedov among others while also hosting the next generation of MMA athletes like Muhammad Mokaev and Ikram Aliskerov.

A year after the formation of the KHK MMA team, His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa set out to globalize the sport of MMA with the creation of BRAVE Combat Federation. With more than 80 events held across 32 nations over the past seven and a half years, the organization has brought a new era of MMA in the world and fighters like Khamzat Chimaev, Ilia Topuria, and Ikram Aliskerov have been beneficiaries.

Ikram spent a major portion of his career in the organization having fought nine times in BRAVE CF before moving on. He gained global exposure during his time with the most global MMA organization and fought across the world representing KHK MMA and Bahrain.

Alongside Ikram, KHK MMA’s and Bahrain’s Magomed Gadzhiyasulov will also be featured in the upcoming UFC event in Saudi Arabia and just like his KHK MMA teammate, Magomed gained global attention with his performance in BRAVE Combat Federation.
