Bahrain junior volleyball team set for Arab U17 championship

The Bahraini Volleyball Federation has finalized the roster for their junior team, which will compete in the Arab U17 Men’s Volleyball Championship in Jordan from July 1 to July 12. Under the guidance of head coach Fouad Abdulwahid and assistant coach Mustafa Abdullah Khamis, 12 players have been selected to represent Bahrain.

The squad includes Ali Abdullah, Ali Talaq, Mohamed Al-Hayki, Jassim Medan, Syed Hassan Al-Abar, Amar Youssef, Elias Sadiq, Ali Abdul-Amir, Hassan Sadiq, Ali Abbas, Mohamed Abdulnabi, and Mohamed Qasim.

The team is set to depart for Jordan on Wednesday, June 26, where they will participate in a five-day training camp. This preparation phase will include three friendly matches designed to ready the team for the upcoming championship.

Leading the delegation is Abdul Jalil Fateel from the board of directors, accompanied by team manager Abdullah Maharous, administrative manager Ali Mohammed, physical trainer Gafran Al-Zeeb, and referee Khaled Al-Shomli. Bahrain’s junior volleyball team will kick off their championship campaign against Libya on July 3. The following day, they will face Saudi Arabia.

After a brief break, they will play against Qatar on July 7, followed by a match against Kuwait on July 8. The team will conclude its group stage matches against Iraq on July 10. All games will be held at the Palace Gymnasium.
